Starting out in the sales and marketing industry is a daunting but exciting experience for most.
You ask any primary school student what they want to be when they grow up the answer range from professional athlete to actor to race-car driver to astronaut... or Michelangelo from the Ninja Turtles. The truth is no-one sticks their hand up to say they want to be a marketing professional or a expert salesperson - but the funny thing is that developing skill in this area doesn't just open the door for a new career it positively affects so many parts of your life.
Sales is just communication on steroids and learning skills like rapport building, understanding body language, being an active listener, being a great conversationalist, negotiation, emotional state management and goal-setting set you up to have a more successful and happy life regardless of what your true calling is.
We call working in our industry the "Life Apprenticeship" because it teaches you a lot of the skills and mentality you need for life that most of us weren't fortunate enough to learn at school.
